Sharyn Cook, a Queensland-based entrepreneur, came up to with an idea for a product: a humidity free shaker. The Cubby Shaker has been designed to dispense pepper, seeds, herbs, spices & sprinkles as well as healthier unrefined salt.
Sharyn’s vision was to promote the use of a healthier unrefined salt. However, unrefined salts are difficult to store and they can clog up traditional grinders. We helped our client develop a concept that would enable her to pursue her mission. We helped to make Sharyn's idea a reality. The product has achieved great success in the Australian market. The design needed to work in such a way that its contents would come out easily – even when the quantity is low in the shaker. We performed a lot of simulations to ensure the product is effortless to use. This required numerous iterations of the prototype before we finally reached the optimum design.
To maintain a premium look, manufacturing product couldn't leave any visible lines. We considered 63 manufacturers during two months of hard work to achieve this. Finally, we identified a supplier who could manufacture the complex shape of the product without any welded lines using injection blow molding. Our client was on a mission and we were committed to helping her achieve the best possible results. We took care of the manufacturing in China and we also gave an extra hand to Sharyn with the quality control and payment handling for manufacturing.
